The forthcoming United Nations Climate Conference will take place in Katowice Poland in December 2018. |
| This event is designed to examine climate change scenarios and to start a proces of examining possible policy options. This follows on from our work at Bonn in Germany where we began the negotiations for such a climate and economic
scenario in November 2018. The aim is to involve speakers, writers and policy makers from around Europe and to provide some policy advise arising from the findings of the event. explicitly. About the Green Economics InstituteThe Green Economics Institute is an official Research Organisation of the United Nations and as such we have our own delegation to the COP United Nations Climate Conferences each year and play a part especially in raising the ambition of the processes.
The Green Economics Institute works to foster collaboration at all levels in all its work. We have won the Luxembourg Honour award for Green Business, and also several other awards. We chaired the Oxford University’s only science panel at COP21 Paris climate conference and ran a conference in Bonn last autumn as part of the COP23 process. Our work is very international We seek to reform mainstream economics, to create the discipline of green economics, we run the worlds only and first green academic double blind peer reviewed journal- The International Journal of Green Economics and also we aim to include social and environmental justice in the discourse and policy making of Economics around Europe. We have advised many European governments, spoken in the French Austrian and Tyrolean Parliaments, and our policies and books are used by governments as diverse as the Swedish and UK government members. We are very active in solutions and innovation, and are a leading think tank. We provide policy advise around Europe and have spoken at numerous universities around Europe from FYR Macedonia to Spain and many others.
