This summer school will offer participants real insights into the intersection of the environmental movement and the feminist issues and is part of our Feminists in the Environmental Movement Project for 2022.
Environmental impacts are very gendered with women and girls often being in the frontline of effects.80 % of climate victims are women and girls- how this intersects and connects to unequal power structures and economics . This summer school explores these issues and encourages participants to share knowledge and experience from around Europe as well as reflecting on what is behind the science, the issues, the waves of feminism and the overall landscape of todays culture and philosophy and how we might shape a better future together.
The course also aims to create a community of alumni able to take the next steps to create change in the world and make it more amenable to intersectional ideas and with greater understand of how it works.
Drawing on the combined experience of the Green European Foundation which works to link institutes, and groups across Europe, Visio and educational organisation in Finland which has led last years Climate Feminist Ambassadors Project, and The Green Economics Institute, a research organisation of the UN which has regular delegations to the United Nations Climate Conferences COPs, and at COP26 led workshops on intersectional and indigenous and feminist perspectives on environmental change and the transition, this summer school brings together expertise and participants from all over Europe and beyond to share knowledge experience and plans for how to make the world more responsive to feminist and intersectional perspectives.

We will be offering some bursaries from countries with the lowest GDP in Europe and asking people in countries with higher GDPs to help sponsor some places for those who couldnt attend otherwise.
We will be offering a certificate of attendance to all participants who fully complete the course.

Session 2: Participants present their presentations on what motivated them to attend and introduce themselves.
Participants are given a copy of our academic proceedings document: ‘Intersectional Aspects and Feminist Perspectives of the climate movement, for the occaision. All participants are invited to submit a short discussion paper to be included. Instructions will be sent with booking.

Women and girls in Europe- contemporary update from across Europe and beyond. Discussion of the issues we want to understand during the summer school with invited motivating speakers.
