Trust Trustee Training

To be held at Trinity College, University of Oxford Thursday 7th April 2016 16.00-19.30

Training in being a Trustee. What does it really mean? Responsibilities and Opportunities

What is it based on ? What is really expected or essential? How to go about it. What are the resources available to guide trustees? This workshop explores how it all works -demystifying the jargon and enabling participants to feel more confident about being a Trustee in 2016 and in how to make a real difference in the world today.

Rationale for the Training

Many people work or are volunteers in the charity sector and actually are unsure about how it works but a bit scared to ask or never thought to check. This short workshop is intended to provide a supportive but well informed space to explore these issues and to make being a Trustee clearer and more fun.

The charity sector’s language and practises are different from the commercial sector and charities do much better when their trustees have had basic training in what is required, how it works and how to operate without problems. This makes the charity much more fun, effective and enjoyable.

This training is simply intended to help all concerned in getting the best out of the charity, they are involved and to share experiences with other people volunteering or in the sector or if they are interested in becoming a Trustee and finding out what is involved.

The Trainers

All the trainers are either Trustees and responsible for the Formal and informal Documents and the Activities and or have run Professional Trusts and will be sharing their knowledge with participants and encouraging participants to share their own experiences too.
